The Appraisal Institute of Canada invites EALT to discuss how appraisers can work with land trusts
October 8, 2008
The Appraisal Institute of Canada holds a range of information meetings, education sessions and networking events for its members. Suzanne Teal, Executive Director of the AIC Alberta, invited Pam Wight to an information and networking evening on October 7th to present information on EALT, and what role appraisers might have with EALT and with landowners. Pam focussed on the varied benefits that natural areas provide to citizens, the challenges involved in urban areas, the need to have qualified appraisers for donations of land and conservation easements, and how appraisals relate to charitable benefits from the Canada Revenue Agency and the Ecological Gift Program.
