Welcome Meghan!

Meghan has just joined the EALT to take on the new position of Stewardship Coordinator. She will be recruiting and coordinating volunteers, arranging volunteer events, and helping to maintain EALT Conservation Lands. Meghan has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta.

From a very young age, Meghan enjoyed white-water canoeing and camping with her family, which inspired her current love of nature. She has always had a passion for wolves but was led to her current love of birdlife during her university degree. Since then she has participated in trips and talks by the Edmonton Nature Club, the Magpie Club at the University of Alberta, and volunteered for two years for the Beaverhill Bird Observatory before taking on three years of employment with them.

Meghan is excited to join the EALT and continuing her vocation of being involved with volunteers and protecting nature. You will find Meghan birdwatching in the Edmonton river valley or surrounding areas. Her favorite Edmonton park is the Whitemud Creek Ravine, and some of her favourite birds include the Least Flycatcher and Northern Saw-whet Owl.
