EALT Seeks Board Members

The Edmonton and Area Land Trust has secured and steward 9 conservation lands in and around Edmonton, and we want to expand the networking of EALT, and the perspectives and knowledge available when the Board of Directors is making strategic decisions. Do you want to add your perspective and build a sense of place for this community? 

The Board of Directors provides leadership and direction to EALT, and oversees its management and performance. EALT is looking to all members of the public for additional Directors. 

Qualifications

Natural areas support a range of values including: health, economic, child & family development, cultural, scenic, and environmental. Since natural areas benefit a wide range of groups, we’d like to include a wide range of expertise and perspectives on our Board. 

Applicants could be from any background, if they are prepared to work on the board and its committees to accomplish EALT goals.

As a volunteer, we greatly value your time and appreciate your dedication towards conserving our natural heritage. Besides personal thanks, your contributions will be recognized in our Annual Report and on the Board of Directors section of our website. You will also be invited to attend our annual Volunteer Appreciation event.

Deliverables/Duties

Directors are appointed for one to three years, and have a flexible schedule to accommodate 6 luncheon meetings per year, held in Edmonton. Training for new Board members will be provided, including written materials, and staff support. An overview of board member responsibilities is available here.
