Earth Ambassadors Making a Difference

The Edmonton and Area Land Trust's Earth Ambassador Program fosters partnerships with businesses and corporations to build support for local nature conservation, thereby benefiting the community, residents, wildlife, and the environment. The program runs from March 11 - April 8, in honour of Earth Hour. The Earth Ambassador Award is presented to one exemplary business on or near Earth Day, April 22.

This year we have three outstanding, local businesses participating as Earth Ambassadors:

The Wildbird General Store (4712-99 Street, Edmonton) is hosting EALT in store on March 18th from 10 AM - 4 PM to spread awareness for EALT's local conservation work. You can support EALT by shopping for your wild bird and gift needs in the store; the Wildbird General Store is graciously donating a portion of proceeds from the day.

Meika's Birdhouse (971A Ordze Road, Sherwood Park) is supporting EALT on March 25th by donating 15% of proceeds from all wild bird products. Meika's Birdhouse is also selling EALT Nature Kits for KidsBee Hotels and Bird Houses to support our conservation work.

Wild Birds Unlimited (12204-107 Avenue, Edmonton) is hosting EALT in store on March 25th from 11 AM - 4 PM. Gord Court, Provincial Wildlife Status Biologist, will be there will a live Barred Owl. Wild Birds Unlimited will be collecting donations for EALT in store and giving away owl mugs for contributions of $25 or more.

Stop by to visit the Wildbird General Store on March 18th and Meika's Birdhouse and Wild Birds Unlimited on March 25th to show your support for local nature conservation.
