This year, we focused our 3rd annual fundraising dinner, Nature’s Nourishment, around our most recent land securement in Leduc County. It was a huge success, and besides the evening being filled with great conversation, exquisite food, and decadent wines, within a unique atmosphere, the entire event celebrated a very special place which we are conserving.
Annie McKitrick, MLA for Sherwood Park, was in attendance and said, “Edmonton and Area Land Trust has helped fund conservation activities on [over 2000] acres…and, as we can see, they have no intention of stopping there….Tonight, I would like to thank Ethel Coates on behalf of myself and our government, for her generous donation – The Coates Conservation Lands. This is an investment that will support our province’s natural landscapes long into the future.”
We would also like to say a special thanks to Jon Bissell for saying a few words to honour his great aunt, Ethel Coates, who bequested this natural area in Leduc County. We were honoured to celebrate Ethel’s legacy of conservation, at this event.
This year’s event was another great success thanks to all of our guests, the RGE RD team and Prairie Gardens. A special thanks goes to artist Lorraine Shulba for painting live throughout the evening, to add to the unique atmosphere. Stay tuned for future details of our Silent Auction, to have a chance to bid on her wonderful painting among other great items.
