Yeggers InstaMeet17 at Larch Santuary

You might be wondering "Who are Yeggers and what is an InstaMeet?!" Yeggers are a community of people who share a love for Edmonton and creativity. An InstaMeet is a chance for people to gather and experience YEG (Edmonton's airport code) and express their creativity. You are not required to have a fancy camera or a camera at all to join an InstaMeet. Brittney Punter started posting beautiful photos of Edmonton on the Yeggers Instagram Page about 5 years ago and today they have over 37,000 followers and counting.  They host InstaMeets and other events throughout the year that encourage Edmontonians to get to know their city and contribute to its betterment. Visit their website for the latest news and upcoming events.

When I approached Brittney about partnering with Yeggers for an InstaMeet in one of our conservation areas, no convincing was needed and Brittney made it happen! On September 28, 2017,  a group of "yeggers" gathered at Larch Sanctuary to learn about EALT, land conservation and also to let the beauty of the natural area inspire creativity through photography.  It was a beautiful, warm evening and I think everyone was surprised at how beautiful the Larch Sanctuary was. I overheard someone say "It's crazy how long you can live in a city and not realize that there are places like this here!"

I want to extend a huge thank you to Brittney Punter and Glenny Mah from Yeggers for making the InstaMeet happen.

Below are a few photos from the evening and if interested, search the hashtag #yeggersIM17 on Instagram for more photos from the event.
