Happy Pollinator Week!
Pollinator Week is June 18-24. Check out our social media for the latest.
National Pollinator Week is a time to celebrate pollinators and spread the word about what you can do to protect them. Stay tuned to our social media for blogs including eight ways to help pollinators, what pollinator-friendly plants you can grow in your garden, kids activities and more.
If you would like to build your own bee hotel, you can find instructions for four different kinds on our website. Our website also has a ton of information about pollinators, including a bee ID guide, butterfly ID guide, moth ID guide and a children’s activity book with bee and pollinator educational activities.
To help celebrate pollinator week, the Edmonton and Area Land Trust (EALT) is participating in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge for the month of June. Every $1 donated to EALT in June via CanadaHelps.org or GivingChallenge.ca, automatically enters us to win an additional $10,000 donation, which we will use to continue to raise awareness about pollinators and steward our conservation lands, which provide important habitat for pollinators and other wildlife.
EALT is excited to have launched our Bee Hotel Map, in time for National Pollinator Week.
The map shows the location of over 50 bee hotels in Edmonton and you can add your own! The map is interactive and we hope you will be inspired to build your own bee hotel and add it to the map. You can also be a citizen scientist and monitor a bee hotel near you.
