This Conservation Connections event is partnering with the Alberta Wilderness Association’s Adventure for Wilderness series.
This new conservation land was secured in 2025 by EALT, protecting a matrix of forest and wetland in Lac St Anne County. Joined by AWA and a beaver expert, we will explore what makes the boreal forest a vital place for wildlife, including beavers!
What to Expect
This new conservation land is not yet open to the public outside of guided EALT events. It is west of Edmonton within 1.25 hours driving time. Parking is within the land in a mowed grass area. If you wish to carpool, please review our Carpooling Policy here.
We will meet at the trailhead and start promptly at 12 PM. The event will end at 3 PM.
The event will explore up to 2.5 km of trails. Trail conditions include wide, mowed grass trails, and at times uneven terrain and may involve beaver dam or creek crossings.
There will be occasional stops throughout the event.
This event is best suited for adult audiences, but families with children are also welcome. Please contact us in advance if you wish to bring young children.
Some binoculars are available to use, but we recommend bringing your own if you have them.
More information is provided on the registration page hosted by AWA.
A reminder will be sent to participants with further information and direction to the meeting point. Spots are limited, please register on the AWA page.
